HD Supply is one of the largest wholesale distributors in North America, supplying maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) products to more than 250,000 professional customers across multifamily, hospitality, healthcare, institutional, and government facilities. Operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of The Home Depot, the company runs approximately 70 distribution centers across the U.S. and Canada and offers a catalog of over 100,000 SKUs. At that scale, supplier coordination is not a back-office function. It is how the business runs.

Stefani Biggerstaff, Senior Manager of Supplier Systems and Data at HD Supply, oversees three operational teams spanning supplier onboarding, drop ship B2B operations, and stock B2B operations. Keeping those teams moving required a level of visibility and control the company’s existing systems simply could not provide. The fragmentation was costing time, accuracy, and momentum in the eCommerce business HD Supply was working to grow.

The Challenge

Before Logicbroker, HD Supply had no reliable way to track inbound transactions or move new suppliers through onboarding with speed or consistency.

“We were dealing with fragmented systems,” Biggerstaff said. “We didn’t really have a strong way to go to market and onboard our suppliers. We had no visibility into our inbound solutions in transactions. So we knew that we needed to get a platform in place so we could gain that visibility.”

The consequences showed up in two places. First, onboarding was slow and difficult to customize, which meant getting new suppliers live and contributing to eCommerce revenue took longer than it should have. Second, without reliable shipping data flowing through a central system, HD Supply could not give its customers accurate lead times. Advance Ship Notice (ASN) compliance was inconsistent, and every gap in that data represented a gap in the trust HD Supply worked to build with both its suppliers and its end customers.

The manual workload that filled those gaps fell on Biggerstaff’s operations and onboarding teams.

“It’s honestly become the trusted source of truth for all of our shipping information today,” Biggerstaff noted, pointing to that centralization as one of the platform’s most immediate and lasting contributions.

The Results

The impact was measurable quickly. ASN compliance was one of the clearest signals. By routing shipping notification data through Logicbroker, HD Supply brought structure and accountability to a process that had previously been inconsistent, and Biggerstaff’s team drove a significant improvement in the numbers.

The manual burden on Biggerstaff’s teams also dropped considerably. With onboarding running through a structured, automated process and shipping data flowing through a reliable system, her operations and onboarding teams were freed from the compensatory work they had been doing to cover for the gaps in the old approach. “It takes a lot of the manual workload off my operations and onboarding team,” Biggerstaff said, “and that’s all thanks to Logicbroker.”
